Blitzkrieg European Community League

When we announced our North American Community League, we were inundated with requests to make the same thing happen for European players.  Starting in May, the European Community League will commence!

It’s another first for us here at The Plays as we announce that registration is now open for the first league in Battalion 1944. Teams can enter the Blitzkrieg European Community League if each player on their roster has paid the €5 player entry fee. All funds received as a result of teams registering for this tournament will be reinvested into the league in its entirety.

The Blitzkrieg ECL will have set Match Days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) where teams will compete in featured matches, and also have the freedom to schedule outside of match days to avoid conflicts with prior commitments.

Prize Pool

16 Teams: €250 (175/50/25)

32 Teams: €500 (300/150/50)

64 Teams: €1,250 (600/350/200/50)

IMPORTANT: Any funds received outside of the prizepool amount will be put directly back into the event for things such as commentators, producers, etc.

Format

This tournament will have a best-of-one group stage which will see teams qualify into the double-elimination playoff bracket. In order to get the best level of competition, the tournament schedule will display which maps are to be played and on which week. The playoff bracket will also be a best-of-one format, with the grand finals being a best-of-five and the upper-bracket winners receiving a one-map advantage.

* Depending on registration numbers, the tournament dates may need to be extended for scheduling purposes, teams will be notified in advance should this be the case.
